fall look and 5 tips on how to put outfits together better

Fall in California doesn't start for a while but I am already starting to plan! My go to this season will definitely be a turtleneck under dresses! I literally had heart eyes when I saw this look on Zara. With a new season starting sometimes it's hard to get dressed! So today I'm giving you some tips on how to put outfits together easier!

1. Pick out your outfit the night before. There's nothing worse than running late and picking out an outfit that you regret all day long.

2. Shoes and bags first...if there's something you're particularly excited about at a certain moment, probably the newest items then build your outfit around it.

3. Check the forecast for the next dayThere is nothing worse than picking out a killer outfit and have the weather not agree.

 4. Eat before you get dressed. Eat in your robe or in your pj's! If your drip some coffee or oatmeal on your work outfit, well now you have to scramble to pick out another outfit or try to get a stain off your blouse and honestly who on Earth has time for that?!

5. Take it easy! Mornings are stressful, take 5 minutes to meditate or do some yoga. This may seem counter intuitive to the morning hacks, but taking time to slow down actually creates more space in your life. When you're less stressed, you're more effective, and life is more fun.

I hope that helps make you a more successful girl boss! Lots of love!

5 reasons to give maxi dresses a chance

Recently I found a super cute website that sells seriously the CUTEST clothes ever! Plus it doesn't break the bank, it's called Make Me Chic and I am seriously saying goodbye to my paycheck! My dress is currently $30 and today I'm giving you 5 reasons you need to give maxi dresses a chance!

1. Easy to wear and easy to throw on for dinner or errands! Unlike jeans, you can wear a maxi dress to work, a wedding, a dinner date, and the pet store. Maxi dresses are a blank canvas — you can lounge in it on the weekend or transform it into a flashy show-stopper. Adding a cropped blazer can take you from the beach to the movie theater. Or change up your look by swapping flip-flops for classy wedges or heels.

2. You already know I love a good wrap dress but having a maxi wrap dress exudes class and ultimate femininity. Maxi dresses are flirty. Opposite of the bag-like shift dress, maxi dresses don’t hide your figure. You can be comfortable and still look like a woman. And you can easily up the feminine factor with jewelry, like an armful of silver bangles, a delicate pendant, or shoulder-grazing earrings. Finish off the look with ankle boots in the winter, and metallic gladiator sandals in the summer.

3. No wardrobe malfunctions...A maxi dress means you don’t have to worry about your shirt coming untucked, a button gap in your blouse, or anything riding up when you sit down. It’s literally got you covered.

4. They're classic...As much as we love a good trend, maxi dresses date back to the ’70s, and they aren’t going out of style anytime soon. They have major staying power due to the wide variety of patterns, styles, colors, and fabrics available. A solid-color maxi in a classic shape will see you through changing fads; all you have to do is update an accessory or two.

5. And last but not least, you don't have to shave your legs. You know you appreciate this one! Maxi dresses give you a ladylike edge while saving you those precious minutes spent shaving.

inspiration...

Happy Monday! I've been wearing this jumpsuit literally non stop since I got it last week and for good reason! Since I can't say no to stripes when I saw this pretty jumpsuit I knew it was fate. The bow also got me. My jumpsuit is from Nasty Gal which is a new store that I came across. They have some really cute options for not too bad of a price! This jumpsuit suit is only $68! Score!
My slip on mules are only $26!

Scroll down for how I find inspiration in my everyday life and how you can too!

~One way I find quick inspiration is Pinterest! Pinterest is such a great way to find inspo and you can find anything! From fashion to home decor to recipes!

~Another way is to take a day trip somewhere! Whether you like the ocean or the city. Taking some time for yourself or getting out of your routine is super helpful and allows your brain to focus on your scenery!

~Enjoy something you made in the past--a blog post, a video, a drawing or a project! Finding something you were proud of might spark something in you!

~Create a vision board! I have these all over my room. I like to cut out pictures from magazines and stick them on a little square of  cardboard (get it at Target, $5)

~ Immerse yourself in learning something new and allow yourself to forget about the limitations of time. For me this was blogging. When I first started I was terrified and didn't know if I could even accomplish my goal! But I'm so glad I did, it's one of my greatest joys.

blushing in SF

We're halfway through the week can I get an amen! My weeks are jam packed with deadlines, blog posts, errands, emails, homework and that never ending pile of laundry! But my weekends are slower which allows me to seek inspiration, catch up on my magazines, grab some coffee and just think.
Keeping weekends in mind I'm making a list of my favorite spots in San Francisco!

~My all time favorite thing to do is eat. I like to try new restaurants but I always tend to wander back to my favorites.

~Another place that I love to take my pup for walks to just take in the scenery is the Pacific Heights neighborhood. My feed is full of these beautiful homes and I seriously cannot get enough!

~ If you're feeling like a beach day head on over to Baker Beach with a picnic lunch there's a beautiful view of The Golden Gate Bridge! Side note: don't go around the big rock, there's a nudist beach.

~Get a yummy pastry from Mr. Holmes Bakehouse and head over to to the Painted Ladies! I'm loving picnics at this time of year and a pretty view with a yummy snack doesn't get much better!

Obviously I'm a huge fan of blush pink and white so this combo was inevitable! My dress is one of my favorites because it's so easy to throw on and pair with ballet flats and a sweater! This cardigan is so sweet and seriously the most perfect shade of pink, definitely need it in different colors! Every woman needs her perfect ballet flats and these are mine! And last but not least my handbag which I've gotten some good use in and you'll never guess the price!
