the Kohl's gift card story

Hi ladies! Last little bit of 4th of July inspiration is up today! With a little bit of a funny story to kick off this Friday! For my birthday I received a Kohl's gift card. At first I was disgusted (its like the Walmart to clothing stores) and then my second thought was "who the hell shops at kohl's???" After many (and I do mean many) nights searching for SOMETHING that I could remotely think of myself in, I remembered that Lauren Conrad has a line through Kohl's. I found some beautiful pieces but fell in love with this collared navy floral dress! I love shift dresses and this one will fit very nicely into my collection! My apologies to any who have a love for Kohl's, I have had some bad experiences shopping there with my grandmother as a child.

After note: Keep an open mind, you'd be surprised by why you may find.

P.S this dress runs big, size down. I have to get mine taken in quite a bit!

Have a safe and fun 4th of July!

shopping on a budget

Hi ladies! Today I'm talking about where to shop when you're on a budget. Unfortunately many of us aren't those women who can buy designer clothing and not be in butt loads of debt! BUT fortunately for us money doesn't buy you style. Personally I'm not a huge fan of the mall, I'm more of a sit on the couch with a glass of wine and shop online! Some of my favorite stores online are:

ASOS - you can find everything in style at the moment and also some really unique vintagey feel clothing. This is my favorite store for dresses, all of their styles are super unique and talk about gorgeous!

SheInside - also one of my favorites for on trend items but for a fraction of the price! I've seen some tops and dresses on other sites for $300-$400 then I'll check SheInside and find the EXACT dress for under $50...yea I'm completely serious.

Other places that I love to shop in stores are:

Francesca's - if you've never heard of this store, you are welcome for bringing it to your attention. I love pretty much everything here. There is some boho pieces also some feminine looks and don't even get me started on the jewelry and handbags!!

Nordstrom - I mean duh, isn't Nordstrom everyone's favorite? They have beautiful pieces but before you think they only have overpriced items, look in the BP section or the Topshop, and SAVVY sections. Also check out the shoe section, the styles are all over the board and are actually very fairly priced.

DSW - shoe heaven...that's all I have to say.

I hope that helped all those hard working ladies out there!

My Dress is under $42 with all sizes available!

My boater hat is an all time necessity in my closet, where was I before I had one!?

My Scalloped Flats are beyond comfy! These ballet slippers don't give me blisters, perfect for summer!

Rachel

Beauty Wednesday: Function of Beauty

Hi ladies! I've been in the market for a new shampoo and conditioner, my past ones have left my hair dull, flat and frizzy(even though my hair isn't naturally frizzy) But finally a company called Function of Beauty changed the ball game. My hair is soft, volumized, protects my color treated hair and leaves my hair NOT frizzy, can I get an amen!!

Whats super unique about this company is you make a profile and fill out a quick questionnaire on what your hair type is and what your goal/needs are for your dream hair! You even get to pick your scent and the color you want your shampoo and conditioner to be!! When I received my shampoo and conditioner, I was so blown away by the packaging AND my name on the bottle "Function of Rachel" What a nice touch! One other thing that made buying a shampoo tough for me was if they tested on animals. Function of Beauty does NOT test on animals is free of Parabens,  sulfates,  Phythalates,  GMOs, and Triclosan. They also use natural ingredients! I will definitely be a long time customer, honestly blown away by Function Of Beauty.

Go and visit their beautiful website to find out more!

a day in Italy, I mean Vegas

Hello ladies! Thanks for stopping by again! Today is all about this white double layer dress. It was our last day in Vegas and I had run out of things to wear but I found this dress that can either be worn during the day or for a night out. I opted for a day time look with a hat and ballet flats and later changed into white espadrille's. 100% if you got to Vegas you need to visit The Venetian and the Grand Canal Shoppes.

Tips for dressing for those summer days!

1. Starting with your shoes opt for ballet flats or espadrilles. Keep your shoes open, flat and sturdy! Also make sure your pretty new shoes are broken in, our feet swell when it's hot which causes major blisters!

2. Protect your skin! Wear a hat and sunscreen! I've been living in my boater hat, serious life saver! My hat is linked below:)

3. Ladies lets be honest, we sweat. But wearing patterned shirts will camouflage those sweat stains!

 4. Lets talk bags! Go for a cross body that hits you on your side or hip rather than carrying a shoulder bag that sticks to your armpits!

5. Invest in a fun shift dress, these types of dresses are for the girls that hate their clothes sticking to them! Perfect for those unbearable summer days!

Hope those tips for useful!

Vegas Baby p1

Hello beautiful! Thanks for stopping by again! Today is all about Vegas, where to stay, where to adventure during the day and also what you'll want to be wearing! First up is where you'll want to be staying. I stayed at the Aria Sky Suites and let me tell you, you won't be disappointed! When we arrived we were picked up in a stretch limo. Side note: you have to be staying in the Sky Suites (different from regular rooms) to be picked up in a limo. When you walk into the Aria its very modern and super high tech. My whole room was powered by a panel in the wall. My curtains would open by themselves , which was so cool! My favorite part was probably our sauna/shower. I would be in the sauna twice a day! Also the Sky Suites Pool was life changing. The pool boys would tend to your every need. If you needed shade they would move an umbrella for you, if you were hungry or needed alcohol a waitress would bring you whatever you needed. 10/10 for The Aria!
After we lounged at the pool and it started to cool down, we would change and head out to the strip! Since it was still so hot I opted for a fun romper.  This number was beyond perfect for Vegas, its nice enough to wear to dinner and also perfect for exploring this fun city! One thing that has to be on the top of your list is The Venetian, there's an incredible mall inside The Venetian that looks like Italy! Really amazing! My romper is from ASOS

And who can forget about the gelato in "Italy"
Thanks for stopping by! If you have anymore comments feel free to ask them either here or on my Instagram!
